For the first time this year the Estonian Design Awards were given besides graphic and product design also for the best service design project. In the category of service design there were five nominees. Let us introduce who the finalists were.

New service – turnaround. Turnaround is a procedure for exchanging travellers with the same destination serving as the start and end point of a cruise. This was also introduced at Estonian Service Design Conference “Services of Tomorrow: What’s next?” as a good example of co-creation of service sector services.

Qminder queue service– is a queue management service that enables people to avoid waiting in line. With Qminder, the client takes a number remotely in advance by using a mobile phone and spends the waiting time doing something worthwhile instead.

But who won? The jury decided not to give the first prize. The silver prize was given for TransferWise and the bronze for GrabCAD project. In addition, the Qminder wasawarded silver medal in the category of web design (in the sub-category of mobile services).
